Thailand is famous for its effort to preserve traditions and customs. As a monarchy country, Thailand is still ruled by a king. Beside of the historic area, Thai cuisine and dessert are also things that can't be missed out. The delicacy of Thai dishes results in a blend of freshness and fragrance, and irrespective of your reasons for visiting, an indulgence in the traditional foods in Thailand is something you must never resist.
Good news for all cafe lovers as there are more and more cafes serve traditional Thai cuisine or fusion. Below is a list of my favorite Thai dessert cafes in Bangkok!
1. Nam Dao Huu น้ำเต้าหู้
Located in the China Town and not too far from the MRT station make this cafe famous among the locals and foreigners. Tofu, soy milk, and black sesame are the main menus in this cafe and you can always add some toppings such as grass jell, red bean, lotus root, bubble and other toppings on your dessert. What makes this place different is they don't put sugar and ginger in the dessert but they put them on each table so that customers can add by themselves.

2. Thongyoy Cafe ทองย้อย คาเฟ่
Owned by fashion designer Thongyoy Phaesuwan, this cafe located in the Ari neighborhood attracts hip crowds looking to satisfy their sweet tooth and snap some shots to feed their Instagram habits. The desserts are served on golden-colored plates (so regal). One of the highlights is the Tea Set (THB150), a kettle of hot tea paired with a choice of Thai desserts such as khanom tom (Thai coconut balls) and khanom chan (pandan layered cake).

3. Cheevit Cheeva
Half Thai, half Korean but full-on Insta-worthy looking. At Cheevit Cheeva, your traditional glutinous rice balls are topped on their magnificent bingsu (shaved ice). The most famous dessert is Bua Loi Bingsu, it's a coconut based bingsu topped with salted egg yolk sauce.

4. Lhong Tou Cafe หลงโถว คาเฟ่
Lhong Tou Cafe instantly became an internet sensation because of their unique double-decked seats. Their first shop opened in July 2018 at Yaowarat selling dim sum. Yes, this is not your “coffee” cafe but one which sells “hipster dim sum”. One of their signatures is the Chinese Set which comes with porridge and other sides. It makes a good breakfast if you prefer something light and less oily. I highly recommend you to try their Thai Milk Tea. I personally think this is one of the best milk tea I've ever had in Thailand as it's not too sweet and they add peanut candy bits on top of it, giving that extra flavor and crunch.

4. After You
After You Dessert Cafe had been one of tourists and locals favourite the past few years. Their signature Shibuya Toasts are no stranger to the fans. Think thick, soft, fluffy and buttery toast with scoop of ice cream and drizzled with maple syrup that was purely heaven. With a tagline of “There’s always room for desserts”, there is always a queue (especially at the Siam Paragon branch) for their sweet treats from shibuya honey toasts, buttermilk pancake, chocolate lava, brownies, to cakes like mille crepe.
