Singapore Trip Part 1

Summer break is coming and it's time to plan an overseas trip! For those who don't have a long holiday, Singapore is a recommended place to spend a short break. Singapore is the most well-developed Southeast Asia country not only in economic and education sector, but also in tourism. Singapore is already well-known as a country with tons of tourists from all over the world, I heard the number of the tourists is more than twice of Singapore's total population.

I think the main factors that make Singapore as a tourists' favorite destination are:

1. English is the main language (most of the locals speak more than one language such as Chinese, Malay, or Indian but they do speak English well!)

2. The convenient public transportation MRT (Mass Rapid Transit) that can be easily founded in many areas and it is easy to read and understand the MRT map

3. Since the country's size is not big, it is easy to go here and there by ourselves and Google Maps work well!

4. The small size of the country makes one week more than enough to explore the country LOL

Apparently the theme of the garden when I went there in late 2018 was Disney, so the garden was full of Disney decorations with a huge TsumTsum statue in the middle of the garden!

2. Marina Barrage

The Marina Barrage is an excellent place to look at Singapore from fresh, alternative angles. If you climb up on the roof of this water reservoir, you will discover an atypical spot where you can see ‘the other side’ of Marina Bay Sands, the Supertree Grove, the two domes of Gardens by the Bay and the reservoir’s distinct dual curvature – framing an image of Singapore’s skyline that is truly your own.

> Address: 8 Marina Gardens Drive, Marina South, Singapore, 18951, Singapore (click here for map) > Operating Hours: Daily 24 Hours

*No Admission Fee

3. LeVeL 33 Rooftop Bar

Located on the 33rd floor of Marina Bay Financial Centre, LeVel 33 is definitely a recommended bar to enjoy panoramic view of Singapore skyline while trying out their own craft beer. Besides craft beer, they also offer starters and mains such as baby back ribs, grilled wagyu beef chunks, fish and chips presented as canopies, sticky chicken wings and fat chips with dipping sauce, lamb T-bone steak, pan-fried cod, and a whole slow-roasted shoulder of lamb. The setting is split into the main indoor contemporary dining area and a sheltered terrace section, arrive early (or book a table in advance) if you want a seat outside, where you can see right across the water to Marina Bay Sands, Gardens by the Bay, the Flyer and the rest of CBD’s towering skyline towards the west.
